The majority of users will not benefit from the extra components included in larger versions. This version already includes everything you need to play back. This is the preferred variant for average users. This codec is used for AVI files by some video editing/encoding software. These codecs do not serve any purpose except to play video.

(I would appreciate some advice from an average user of a PC regarding audio and video – I am not a professional).

Personally, I don’t think K-Lite or other codecs are necessary. It is something that I am having a heated debate with some friends. There are no additional versions you need to install. It contains all changes made since the previous version. Upgrade to the Mega version if you wish to use this tool. You will need to use the MPC-HC internal audio renderer to play such files. MPC-HC has added file association options for.dff/.dsf files. In this case, the player icon will be used for all file associations. You can now install files without an icon library. You can also visit our beta version page HERE to find installers with the most recent updates. The normal installer for the codec pack can be downloaded HERE. This feature is only available by default on compatible Intel or Nvidia systems. These settings can be adjusted as you would with any other settings in the codec package. Hardware acceleration is now available by default for systems that support HEVC video. They will also convert the video colors into SDR so that you can view it on a regular monitor/TV. This video can only be played using 64-bit MPC-HC with Madvr as the video renderer. You can still use it but you need to upgrade to the MEGA codec pack. The default audio codec has been switched from ffdshow into LAV. You can now play the main movie by opening “BDMVindex.bdmv”. K-Lite codec packs, which are not built-in to VLC, cannot be used to improve/harm VLC’s performance or capabilities. VLC cannot usually access codecs that aren’t built-in to VLC. You can use the update pack below to keep your current installation updated. There may be updates that are worth making to certain components between regular KLCP releases.
