Progress makes Progress: even in the darkness that is always followed by the enlightenment to bring brightness in the sky and all enlightens the mind for a lite of images show you why and then in time thee lightness in images that are seen by their. But the bomb has a place and since dropped we have never had a war the magnitude of World War I or II since.
Obviously, the way the Communists of the USSR misused the bomb by stealing it and threatening the free-world was awful so maybe that is what they mean? They stole Einstein's work (and more so the work of many other scientists who contributed even more to the Manhattan Project) in order to bring "what you fear in the night" to the day? It's possible that Counting Crows weren't complaining about that so I shouldn't judge. Nor have I ever heard anyone put down the Japanese Emperor who refused to surrender in the war he started and cost all the people of Nagasaki their lives.
I mean, I have never heard anyone praise Truman for dropping the bomb the bomb on the small city of Hiroshima INSTEAD of Toyko which would have killed millions. Great song but I will never understand how people get upset about dropping the atomic bomb and literally saving hundreds of thousands of lives (expert estimates) by ending the Pacific Chapter of World War II.
